Quick Bar Web to AE, Chrome extension. Last updated: 1 November 2026.
Developer: [Your name or business name]. Contact: [your support email]. Website: [your website URL].
1. Short version
- The extension runs on your computer. It does not send your data to us or to any server we operate.
- It reads the web page you choose to capture, and sends that capture to the Quick Bar panel in Adobe After Effects on the same computer.
- We do not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal data.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party trackers in the extension.
- You can remove all extension data at any time by uninstalling the extension.
2. What the extension reads
The extension reads only when you start a capture, or pick an element with the element picker. It reads:
- The visible page or element you capture, including its layout, text, colors, fonts, shapes, images, and position on screen.
- Image files that appear on that page, so they can be placed in After Effects. These are downloaded from the page’s own address, in the same way your browser loads them.
- Basic tab information (the page address and title) so the capture can be named and saved.
3. Where the data goes
Captured data goes to one place only: Adobe After Effects on your computer, through a bridge that listens only on your own machine (127.0.0.1, port 43821 for Chrome, and localhost, port 7867 for Figma). Nothing is sent over the internet. The extension has no server that receives your captures.
Figma plugin: the plugin sends the layers you select in Figma to the Quick Bar panel in After Effects, on the same computer. It does not send them anywhere else.
4. What is stored on your computer
The extension stores these items in Chrome’s local storage, on your computer only:
- Your settings, such as the viewport type, output quality, and layer options.
- Your answer to the privacy confirmation, so it is not shown every time.
- A short history of your last capture session, so a failed send can be retried.
- Images you saved from the right-click menu, until you delete them.
- Pairing details for the After Effects bridge, such as the bridge token and protocol version.
- If you use Collect ZIP, the extension saves a ZIP file (and PNG images) to your Downloads folder. You choose what to do with these files.
5. What we do not collect
- Your name, email, or account details (the extension has no sign-in).
- Your browsing history.
- The contents of pages you capture.
- Usage statistics, crash reports, or analytics.
- Payment or financial information.
6. Permissions and why we need them
The extension asks for these Chrome permissions. Each one is used only for the feature described.
- activeTab: work with the tab you are capturing, when you click the extension.
- scripting: inject the capture script into the page you choose.
- debugger: read the page layout and styles accurately, so the layers match the page.
- downloads: save Collect ZIP files and images to your Downloads folder.
- storage: save your settings and the status of sends.
- unlimitedStorage: keep large captures, with many images, until they are sent.
- contextMenus: add the “Send Image to After Effects” right-click option.
- alarms: retry queued sends in the background.
- clipboardWrite: copy design data to your clipboard when you press copy.
- <all_urls> (host access): capture any site you choose. The extension does not read sites you do not capture.
7. Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Security
Data moves between the extension and After Effects only on your computer. The bridge uses a shared token and signed requests, so other programs cannot use it without that token. No copy of your data is kept by us.
No system is perfectly secure. If you think the bridge was misused, uninstall the extension and the After Effects panel, then reinstall them.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and post the new version on this page. Major changes will be announced on our website.
10. Your choices
- You choose each page you capture.
- You can turn off the bridge by closing the After Effects panel.
- You can uninstall the extension at any time, which removes its stored data.

Limited Use statement
The use of information received from the extension will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use the data only to provide the single purpose of the extension, which is sending web page layouts from Chrome to After Effects as editable layers. We do not sell user data, transfer it to advertising platforms or data brokers, or use it for personalized advertising.
